ONE FINGER
Sifu Wong is only 5' 6" and slightly built, but he has incredible internal power. Many Karate, Tang soo-do, Tae kwon-do and Aikido (to name a few) Black belts have taken part in this class, and all were impressed with his power. He has demonstrated his internal power on several occasions, and on one in particular, he held up his index finger only, and asked a 16 stone man to lean on it and try to push him over. The man tried desperately, using all his weight, but only succeeded in becoming very red faced! Several people have attempted to do this, even a second Dan Judo expert who had been training for 21 years! Sifu Wong also gave a demonstration to reporters of a local paper (The Evening Telegraph), and, more recently, in a Martial Aid tournament.

Sifu Wong's talents lie not only in Martial Arts, he has been an artist of some considerable standing for over 20 years. In Hong Kong (he was born in China), he painted professionally. He has also been playing guitar very successfully for over 10 years. He also helped his father run a Chinese Restaurant near China Town. Hence the fact that he is also extremely adept in the making of Peking and Cantonese Cuisine.

Sifu Wong has the same character as traditional Chinese people, shy, retiring and calm. He doesn't like getting too involved with people outside of his own family, but this doesn't mean to say that he isn't friendly, in fact, any of his students would tell you that he is one of the friendliest and helpful people that one could ever wish to meet.

Sifu Wong is 31 years old but the majority of people refuse to believe this, as he only looks in hisearly 20's! This goes to prove that his style is very beneficial to health and longevity. Also Sifu Wong feels it is important not to push oneself too hard when exercising. He says "you shouldn't pay to get damaged". You should only go as far as you can. Everybody has a limit.

Recently we heard a story about a master, who after being told that his student couldn't do a particular exercise, told him to "do it until you can". Is this the proper way to teach? Why should one push oneself, this only resulting in damaging tendons and ligaments. We're not saying don't push yourself at all, just realise your limits. Sifu Wong's style will be just as quick, if not quicker, than the styles who 'bully' you into doing exercises or techniques. This is because you will feel comfortable with the way of being taught, therefore you will enjoy your training, thus you will achieve your goal, for example the 'splits'. We ail know that enjoying something makes it 100% easier.
