What you can learn from Yellow Dragon Fist
Without comparing styles you cannot find out which is better. Everyone
thinks their style is the best. So they won't learn the other
style.
No one is perfect, also no style is perfect. But we only try to
make it perfect. Sifu Wong has only incorporated the best techniques
and training methods into his style.
Sifu Wong has combined everything he has learned to produce his
own style. He has spent a great deal of time, effort and money in
each field of training he has learned. He does not agree with people
who just learn bits here and there without really understanding
any of it.
He has sacrificed many things to be able to collect all his knowledge
together and then pass it onto his most trusted and those students
with good characters. Our aims are firstly for health, then to create
a good character, and then for self defence.
These are combined with more rigorous training to achieve basic
fitness and to develop a strong foundation from which to begin more
advanced training.
Sifu Wong believes that when you start on the road to learning you
should not have a narrow view of the martial arts. Your mind should
be open in every direction - drawing in knowledge as you develop
mentally and physically.
This does not mean that you cannot settle to follow one direction,
after you have a strong foundation you should follow it with all
your heart.
These 5 principles must be adhered to if you wish to learn this
style:
1. To achieve Enlightenement in this lifetime (cultivate mind body
and spirit)
2. Work as a team (helping each other).
3 . The value of a mistake is to change (learn from your mistakes).
4. Respect your Sifu (master) and seniors (one day you will be a
master).
5. Always be humble.
